Welcome to Ms. Ninfa's Honors Medical Interventions class webpage. In this PLTW Medical Interventions (MI) course, students investigate a variety of interventions used in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of disease as they follow the lives of The Smiths, a fictional family. As students are introduced to the health issues and medical decisions members of the family face, they explore interventions related to immunology, surgery, genetics, pharmacology, medical devices, rehabilitation, and diagnostics. Students track the medical history and interventions encountered by the family members on a family tree. The final product serves as a visual reminder of the vast array of interventions that help keep us well. This webpage is designed for parents that are looking to keep up with what we are doing in class. We utilize Google Classroom in this course, which is reserved for students only. However, please find below the class agenda for our Google Classroom. Each assignment appears here in a "to-do list" like format. There is no access to the assignment, however it is a list of what is happening in class. I highly encourage parents that are trying to keep up with their students, beyond what is provided here, to ask their student to see their Google Classroom, regularly check Genesis, and stay involved in their academics through conversation. Below you will also find the remind messages that I send to students.
